How To - Seated Leg Extensions

Seated Leg Extensions

Leg extensions with the monkey foot are simple to achieve. You're going to need an incline bench. If you don't have one like me, you can use a flat bench and just elevate the leg on the side that you're sitting on. The higher it goes, the more range of motion you'll, you'll have. Using a foam roller is going to give you even more range of motion.

You see my I'm letting my leg dangle. I'm not touching the floor from there. I'm just extending the leg. You can lean back to make this easier, lean forward to make it harder. When you lean forward, you're going to be fighting against your own hamstrings. So if you have tight hamstrings and then you're engaging the quad, it's going to stretch the hamstring, provide an awesome mobility for the knee and the hip.

So this is just a very good exercise for the hamstring and quad. If you want to focus more on the quad, lean back. Now, if you don't have a foam roller, that's fine. You'll notice that my range is reduced. It's hitting the ground. I don't get to take it through the full range, which is going to reduce the hypertrophy and the muscle growth in the quad.
